Women's Fair 2014

We have been looking forward to the 2014 Dayton Women's Fair all year! And it came and went so fast, we could barely catch our breath. We didn't see as many people as we had hoped, but I think made a big impact on those that visited our booth. We even had a model wearing some of our items in the Fashion Show! We saw a lot of old friends and made new ones. We caught up with Sandy from the Dayton Demons, and she repeated Bonez's invitation to set up at the Pink in the Rink night!
We finally have a weekend off to rest and recuperate after 6 very busy weekends. October is right around the corner. We'll be at the Spring Valley Potato Festival and then Yellow Springs Street Fair!

Fall is Here! and how!

OK! I know the calendar doesn't say it's Fall yet, but don't tell anyone that was at the Huber Heights Marigold Festival. It was a beautiful Fall day! Chilly in the morning, warming up nice in the afternoon, and then chilly again as the sun went down. It was really one of the nicest festivals we have been to. It was only the second year for the festival, but it was much bigger and better and more fun than last year. We stayed busy most of the day and did better in sales than any of the festivals we have been to this year. And we connected with Bonez from the Dayton Demons hockey team again. He gave me note to call them so we can set up at the Pink on the Rink night! Can't wait!
Now, the biggest event of all is coming up. The 2014 Dayton Women's Fair is this Saturday and Sunday at the Airport Expo Center! We will not only have our booth there, but we will be part of the Saturday Women in Business Networking Fashion Show! How exciting is that? Look for Kathy's Pink Goal near Arrow Wine's Cocktail Court and Meijer's Cooking Stage!

The Fundraising has begun!

OK, I am off to a great start with this year's fundraising! Riverside Festival was terrific - we sold enough items to donate $125 to the Susan G Komen 3-Day; and Holiday at Home was wonderful - $200 donated to the 3-Day! OK, you say, but Kathy, you only have $225 in your account, where's the other $100? Well, I made an awesome friend at the Michigan walk, she was my team captain Kris, and she is also going to be walking in San Diego this year. So I decided that since I had more than a year to raise the money, I could put some of what I had to donate to her account! She is a truly wonderful person, and she helped me so much in Michigan, that I thought this was the best way to pay it forward! And all along, I have said that all profits are donated to the 3-Day, I never said that it all had to go to my account. So let's get going - I have set my sights on raising $6471 by next October - I have a long way to go -

Atlanta 2015 here I come!

Michigan 2014 was amazing! Almost 1000 people walking the streets and parks in Southwest Michigan raising awareness about breast cancer. The weather was great - only rained at night, and we camped indoors! For the first time in 6 years I did not walk in the rain.
I have registered to walk in Atlanta, GA next year. So here's hoping that the middle of October 2015 will be gorgeous walking weather.
This year I raised $6470, so I have set my goal for Atlanta 2015 at $6471!

To start the year off, we set up our tent at the 19th Riverside Community Festival. Yes the weather was hot, but after setting up in the rain, it stayed dry the entire weekend. It was so nice to catch up with old friends, and make new ones. A special thank you to Roxanne for organizing and taking care of us and also to the folks from Bob Evans who were set up next to us and kept tempting us with their delicious baked goods.

Next up - Kettering Holiday at Home Arts and Crafts Show = Labor Day weekend = Sunday, August 31 and Monday, Sept 1. Look for us under the Pink (and white) tent!

Hello, I have been involved in the Susan G Komen 3-Day Walk since 2009. My husband and I work year around raising money to help find a cure for breast cancer.
